1: if my phone told me when its message inbox was full when it became full rather than telling me it's too full to receive new messages when someone sends me a new message that it can't receive. (I'm pretty sure I can't be bothered to get a new phone just because of this, though; the phone I have is so much elderly fail that it's kind of endearing. Polyphonic ringtones and colour displays are still futuristic and swish, in my world.)

2: if I had an internet connection that didn't haphazardly cut off at inopportune moments. (This house is finally getting a wireless router some time next week, but it'll go in my parents' room and I fear they'll be turning it off when they go to bed every evening. At ten thirty.)

3: if I had more money. (I'm going to be working all next week, but not paid. :C 3 Mills will look reasonably cool on my CV, though.)

4: if, when I read in my head the messages I've typed, it would stay in my voice rather than the voices of any of my RP characters. (Inevitable side-effect of imagining character voices to write them; freaks me out more than it probably should.)

5: a kitten.


I'm honestly considering going to be British at people in Disneyland for a year, but this would probably be a bad idea, not least because the only other thing of personal note in Florida is someone I'd sooner avoid but also because you know, A YEAR, and DISNEYLAND WTF, but for some reason it's remaining on my "to consider" list. what

I seriously can't bring myself to use icons on RP journals that are made out of fanart I didn't do myself. Not in the "oh noes I do not have the artist's permission" way, because I don't reaally care about that very much, and I don't have a problem with using icons like that on my personal journal, but because ... like ... a drawing can represent characterisation as much as writing can? I think that's it, anyway; I feel much more like I'm accepting someone else's characterisation over my own if I use their art on an RP journal than on this one. I'm trying to play the character based on canon, not on someone's doujinshi, and I don't want to bring their doujinshi into the equation in the same way I wouldn't want to use someone else's write-up of a character's personality in their info. Icons from canon are fine because I'm generally trying to be as close to canon as I can, fanart I've drawn is fine because that's my interpretation as much as the way I write a character is my interpretation, but if it's someone else's it just feels wrong.

Is that just me? 8| I have a feeling it is.

When I decided to draw this I thought it was really funny. Now I'm not entirely sure what I was thinking. It was about 2am at the time but that's not really an excuse with me.

I've realised I nearly never post about what is going on with me unless something horrible has happened, so here:

I'm babysitting again this evening, which is nice as this is currently my only source of income (still trying to amend that, with little success). The people who want me to babysit own the French delicatessen on Broadway Market, which does nice sandwiches but is as overpriced as any other aspect of this area's gentrification. They have two daughters aged six and seven who like me because I can do funny voices and I'm good at reading stories, and because I'd heard of a book they're both very keen on. Unfortunately this means I have to pretend that I like Gobbolino The Witch's Cat even though I thought it was boring even when I was a little kid, but I'm being paid six pounds an hour so I'm not really complaining. Like a fool I will probably spend my earnings on purikura.

I have been linked this video at least once a week since it was put online. People who haven't spoken to me in months have messaged me just to link me this video. I do love owls very much but I'm getting a little worried that I'm going to grow up to be one of those people with a house full of owl ornaments or something.

I'm really, really glad I didn't get into Kingdom Hearts until KH2 came out in the UK. Sometimes I do think, damn, I wish I'd played KH1 back when my brother was telling me how awesome it was, and I could have like got into fandom and stuff, that would have been cool, but then I realise how long I would have had to wait for KH2 to come out and how much that would have totally sucked when it came out in America months and months before it came out here and I would have had to sit there being all :C while the internet went on and on about it. This also makes me terribly glad that the next instalments will be handheld, because the PSP and DS are at least region-free. If I am fortunate, by the time KH3 comes out, I'll have moved on to another fandom enough to not really care any more. (... :C)

On a related note, I am increasingly annoyed that Wall-E doesn't come out here until the 18th. That's better than months and months and months away, but everybody keeps telling me to see it and I can't D:

speaking of internet on the fritz, it's looking like I'm not going to have any at all this evening. Things may look up later on but right now they are looking very, very DOWN

So the neighbour who used to let me use her wireless has changed the name and password so my brother and I can't access it. I have a feeling this may be thanks to my brother exceeding download limits but who knows. I don't think I'm gonna go talk to her about it because I always feel like I'm bothering the hell out of her when I do, but I think I'm going to have to talk to the parents about getting our own wireless. I AM GUESSING that the answer will be no, as they have never been very keen on the idea, but now that my brother's got his own laptop as well we might be able to sway them? Not sure. I have a feeling the answer will be "when you get a job", which would mean "not until mid-August at the very fortunate earliest", because I have intermittent weeks of Doing Things (Fantastic Mr. Fox, France &c.) between now and then. We'll see, I guess. Fortunately I do still have internet access, but the couple of networks I can get to from my room (as purafag will doubtless attest) are pretty damn crap, and only work in certain places. Sigh.

Also my Flash trial runs out today, so it kind of sucks that I haven't been using it to draw in much over the last few days. Sucks extra that I don't feel inspired or motivated in the slightest today. I'd download another or something but my current internet situation is kind of prohibit-y in that respect.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, though, Brawl finally came out over here today (yes, seriously, what the fuck release dates), and I've got it but I'm waiting for my brother to get home so we can play it together. \o\

I suppose you can tell I'm an adult now because my biggest gripe with the teenagers who slept in my room last night is that, despite the fact that I could quite easily have refused to sleep on the living room floor so that they could have my bed and the spare mattress in my room, neither of them once said "thank you".
